Meet Susie!

Susie Sandstrom, CEO Sziols America

Susie Sandstrom is raw energy. She’s enthusiastic, motivated and approaches every day with a positive, fearless attitude. For that reason, it is impossible to pigeonhole her into a concise description.
Susie trained for the 1984 Olympic Marathon. She has traveled the world, participating in 35 marathons, including the Boston Marathon 3 times. She is a golf fanatic with a handicap of 10 and two holes-in-one in two years.

She is the mother of two successful sons. Ben, age 22, is the online media director for USC, and was recently featured in a Fox Sports program telling the story of his being selected as part of the team as a walk-on. Clayton, age 20, is an Urban Design student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA. During her marriage, she guided her family through 7 relocations.

In her first entrepreneurial foray, she launched Global Pursuits Un-Limited, a marketing and distribution enterprise designed to empower entrepreneurs’ pursuits globally. She also worked with Race for the Cure-Dallas as the Elite Athlete Coordinator and promotions manager. During 2006 and 2007 she collaborated with Fox News, Luke’s Locker, and New Balance to launch a new concept: “The Nike Goddess Shop”

Her life-long interests in world travel, the art of staying connected, health, well-being and fitness lifestyle have also kept her busy in the non-profit realm. She has collaborated with various community charities to organize and secure corporate contacts and sponsorships for special event activities (5K fun runs to marathons). She was the chairman for Dallas Symphony Orchestra Derby Day at Lone Star Park in 2001, and chairman for the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Memory Walk and Unforgettable Run,” at White Rock Lake in both 2001 and 2002. Since 2005 and still to date, she still serves as Campaign Committee and Board Member for the Katy Trail, a linear 3.5-mile hike and bike trail in the heart of Dallas:

Susie has a B.A. English Literature from Wheaton College, and supplanted that education with a summer session at Oxford University and Holy Land Studies in Israel, Turkey, Greece and Italy. While in school, she was a sports writer and photographer for her town’s newspaper, as well as began her athletics with tennis, swimming, track and Men’s cross-country.

Not only is Susie a rider to spread a message of hope across the country, but she is a sponsor, as well. Susie is the CEO of Sziols America, creator of the finest athletic eyewear on the globe and is sponsoring each rider for this event with a pair of her amazing glasses.
